Your role
Join our dynamic biotech team as a Technical Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in supporting our laboratory operations. We're seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for scientific research and a commitment to excellence. As a Technical Assistant, you'll collaborate closely with scientists and researchers to facilitate experiments, maintain lab equipment, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Your responsibilities

  • Lab Support: Provide comprehensive support to scientists by preparing materials, reagents, and solutions for experiments. Assist with the setup and execution of laboratory procedures including but not limited to 3D-bioprinting assistance, (bio)material testing, cell culture, assay running and analyses.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control activities to ensure the accuracy and reproducibility of experimental results. Follow standardized protocols and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to maintain consistency and reliability in laboratory procedures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, such as centrifuges, microscopes, pipettes. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
  • Inventory Management: Manage laboratory inventory by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records of expenditures. Assist in the receipt, storage, and distribution of chemicals, biological materials, and laboratory consumables.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment. Ensure that all personnel adhere to proper procedures for handling hazardous materials, disposing of waste, and maintaining personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Data Management in Scinote: Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of experimental data. Maintain electronic and hard-copy records in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Collaborate with team members to compile data summaries and prepare reports for internal review.
  • Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by effectively communicating with team members and participating in team meetings and training sessions. Contribute to the development of new protocols and experimental designs through active engagement and innovative thinking.
Your profile

  • Education as a technical assistant (MTA, BTA, CTA) OR B.Sc. / M.Sc. in life sciences, chemical sciences, molecular biology or a related field.
  • Previous 2+years experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a biotech or life sciences environment.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques and instrumentation, including pipetting, sterilization techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Willingness to take responsibility and the ability to achieve goals collaboratively.
